This year marks the 13th installment of the Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) that is set to take place from October 2nd to October 10th in the regions of Haeundae and Nampo-dong. Moviegoers from all over the world are paying close attention to this year’s film festival, as it will feature 315 screenings from 60 countries worldwide, boasting the largest number of films to ever participate in the festival’s history.
The festival will open with Kazakhstan’s ‘The Gift to Stalin’ and present films from a string of other lesser-known countries including Jordan, Mongolia, and Pakistan. Furthermore, a wide variety of special programs have been prepared for the festival including a program called ‘Superheroes in Asia’ that introduces superheroes from Asian films and the ‘Romanian New Wave’, a special program screening Romanian films that have been recently gaining wide popularity from the film industry. Aside from movie screenings, the festival will also offer several film seminars and hand-printing events as well.
Reservations for general screenings can be made on the Pusan International Film Festival’s official Korean website, while 30% of the seats for the screenings can be made in person at the walk-in ticket box offices on the day of the showing on a first-come first-serve basis.
