Gyeongju Tourist Map 2026 – English PDF Download & Online Viewer Guide

Gyeongju, the ancient capital of the Silla Kingdom, has an official English tourist map, and the latest version posted on the Gyeongju city tourism website is the 2026 Gyeongju Tourist Map. If you’re planning a trip to Gyeongju, this is the one to get.

I downloaded and checked it myself. Compared to the Busan map, the files are much lighter, but there are a couple of things about the download that can be confusing, especially on a phone. I’ll explain everything below.

What’s Inside the 2026 Gyeongju Tourist Map

The map comes as two separate files: a front side and a back side. Both are beautifully illustrated, which makes it fun to look at even before your trip.

Front side

  • An illustrated map of the whole Gyeongju area, from the city center to the East Sea coast
  • Transportation info: airports, buses connecting from Singyeongju KTX Station, and Pohang Gyeongju Airport buses
  • Tourist Information Centers and the Gyeongju City Tour
  • Experience programs, Tourist Police contacts, and major hotels and resorts
  • A full index of attractions with grid locations

Back side

  • Introductions to Gyeongju’s UNESCO World Heritage sites: Bulguksa Temple and Seokguram Grotto, Gyeongju Historic Areas, and Yangdong Village
  • Detailed maps of four key areas (see below)
  • Photo guides for major attractions in each area

Personally, I found the back side the most useful. The front map is great for seeing how spread out Gyeongju is, but the area maps on the back are what you’ll actually use when walking around the old town.

4 Area Maps at a Glance

Daereungwon Ancient Tomb Complex area

Daereungwon, Cheomseongdae Observatory, Wolseong, Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, Gyochon Traditional Village, Woljeonggyo Bridge, Gyeongju National Museum, and Hwangnyongsa Temple Site. This is the heart of Gyeongju, and most of it is walkable.

Gyeongju Namsan Region

Samneung Forest, Yongjanggol Valley, and the rock-carved Buddhas of Namsan Mountain, including the Seven Buddhas at Chilburam. Great if you enjoy hiking with history along the way.

Bomun Tourist Complex

Bomun Lake, Gyeongju World, Gyeongju Expo Grand Park, and Gyeongju HICO. This is where many of the big resorts are, and the lake is lined with cherry blossoms in spring.

Donghae Region (East Sea coast)

Gampo, the Underwater Tomb of King Munmu, Gameunsa Temple Site, and the Yangnam Columnar Joints. Worth the drive if you have an extra half day.

How to View and Download the 2026 Gyeongju Tourist Map

The map is available in three ways. Pick the one that suits your device.

View it right away on your phone

The easiest option on a smartphone. These links open the map in your browser, and you can zoom in without downloading anything.

Download the PDF (PC recommended)

If you want to save or print the map, download the files below. Each file is about 10–13MB.

Before you download

The download links give you ZIP files, not PDFs. You’ll need to unzip each one to get the PDF inside, and the front and back sides are separate files. Unzipping on a phone can be a hassle, so I recommend downloading on a PC, or simply using the online viewer if you’re on mobile.

Official Gyeongju tourism website

You can also find the maps on the official Gyeongju tourism website (Tourist Map Preview page). Note that the site doesn’t have a dedicated English version. When you switch the language, the pages are shown through Google’s automatic translation, so some menus and descriptions may read a little awkwardly. The map itself is properly made in English, so don’t worry about that.

If a link doesn’t work

Korean public institutions tend to change their URL structure whenever they renew their websites, and download links often break in the process. If any of the links above don’t work, please leave a comment below, and I’ll find the new one and update this post.

My Tip for Using the Map

Gyeongju’s main sights are more spread out than they look, so check the front map once before your trip to see how far apart areas like Bomun and Bulguksa are from the old town. Then keep the back side handy for walking around the Daereungwon area.
