Tongyeong Cable Car – Views, Price & Information

If you are visiting Tongyeong in Gyeongsangnam-do, the Tongyeong Cable Car is one attraction you should not miss.

The Tongyeong Cable Car was once the longest cable car in Korea, but that title now belongs to the Balwangsan Cable Car in Pyeongchang.

The Tongyeong Cable Car is a gondola-type cable car with a glass floor. It can feel a little thrilling when you look down, but the glass floor also gives you a great view of the scenery below.

Each cable car can accommodate up to eight people. However, if there are not many visitors, you may be able to ride with just your own group instead of sharing the cabin with other passengers.

After taking the cable car up, there are several facilities where you can enjoy the scenery, including an observation deck. However, I recommend continuing on foot to the top of Mireuksan Mountain. The hike from the observation deck to the summit takes about 15 minutes.

The views from the summit are well worth the short climb.

The round-trip boarding fee for Tongyeong cable car is 17,000 KRW which is not expensive.
On a clear day, you can enjoy panoramic views of Tongyeong and the surrounding islands.
