The word “Original” is added after the Coolpis product name.
This is because similar products that copied Coolpis’s strong popularity continued to be released.
One example is a product called Juicy Cool.

Coolpis is a long-running Korean beverage that has been on sale since 1980.
It gained popularity as one of the cheapest drinks, but its sales declined as South Korea’s economy grew. However, as spicy food became increasingly popular, Coolpis sales began to rise again.
Koreans often order Coolpis when eating extremely spicy foods, such as tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and dakbal (spicy chicken feet).
In fact, Coolpis can be a clue to how spicy a restaurant’s food is. If you visit a Korean restaurant and find Coolpis on the menu, there’s a good chance that the restaurant serves seriously spicy food!
Coolpis has peach, pineapple and plum flavors.
Personally, I like plum flavor the most.
For some reason, I find Coolpis in a carton tastes better than the canned version. I can’t explain why, but I just prefer the taste of the carton-packaged Coolpis!
If you have a chance to eat spicy food in Korea, don’t forget to take Juicy Cool or Coolpis.
It will be of considerable help.
Of course, milk will help with the spiciness, but there will be no milk on the restaurant’s menu.
